AlunaGeorge – You Know You Like It (Remixes)

Bondax Remix:

You know that you’ve come across a good track when, no matter how you spin it (or how many times you spin it), it keeps bumping. A couple months ago, London electro-pop duo AlunaGeorge released Body Music (Remixed), a follow-up to their debut LP that dropped last year. While the whole record is filled to the brim with ear candy, featuring trending names like Cosmo’s Midnight, B-15, and Shadow Child, I wanted to focus on the one song that’s been stuck in my head nonstop since I first heard them, aptly named You Know You Like It.

Aluna’s vocal inflection (which you might recognize from Disclosure’s White Noise), coupled with her edgy lyrics, give the track a take-no-shit attitude, while George’s production is moody and detailed. Since its release almost two years ago, You Know You Like It has seen a lot of reworks. But it seems like no matter how you slice and dice her vocals, you get gold every time. These are a few favorites, including a Wilfred Giroux remix that’s bound to make you start bumping, a dark downtempo mix by DJ Snake (listen for those snare rolls), a stabby house take by Tchami, and a sunny Bondax remake (which just got purged from SoundCloud by Vagrant Records, so I included a copy above). It’s rare that you get such a solid group of edits. Compare, contrast–either way, you know you like it.
