Kentaro & One T – Thank You

We’ve got the perfect Friday afternoon jam for you this week. Recently, LA’s Kentaro had his SoundCloud account removed due to some remix licensing issues. It’s now back up and running with a re-release of Thank You, his smoky R&B collaboration with vocalist and producer One T that was originally released earlier this year on, you guessed it, April 20th. So kick back and give this one a spin–happy weekend everyone.

Gallant – Weight In Gold

Premiered on Zane Lowe’s notorious “World Exclusive” slot on the new Beats Radio 1/Apple Music, Weight In Gold’s breakout artist Gallant is quickly catching fire. A graduate of NYU and new client of Jake Udell (manager of Krewella and Zhu), 23-year-old Christopher Gallant’s soulful falsetto is joined by a powerful electric flare to create the emotional ballad Weight In Gold. Though he’s just beginning to perform in LA and NYC, Gallant’s mature songwriting chops and passionate vocals position him to become a real treasure in modern R&B.

Alexander Lewis x Brasstracks – Distant Memories

Feeling horny lately — A fresh graduate of the Manhattan School of Music’s jazz program, Alexander Lewis got back together once again with Brasstracks for something new, titled Distant Memories. Turning down the tempo since Life is Good, the New Yorkers managed to squeeze a lot of soul into less than three sweet minutes of Brooklyn beat. Those trumpet layers are the work of Ivan Jackson, if you want to give his solo work a listen. Can’t get enough of this combo.

Mura Masa – day 82

It’s been a while since Mura Masa released Miss You, the toy-box track that got us hooked back in September. Since then, the 18 year old producer has put out his debut LP, Soundtrack To A Death, achieving some big recognition across the web and growing an audience he deserves. He’s now back with new material — packed to the brim with bass, brass and R&B samples, here’s feel-good day 82.
